The lake is a challenging course and there are races hosted daily throughout the summer holidays. Saturday mornings include sailing lessons for all and visitors to Lake Arrowhead can enjoy the scenic views of these magnificent sail boats. Sailing has become a family affair in Lake Arrowhead with many generations of families continuing to use the Lake Arrowhead Yacht Club. One such family is the William Peschelt family which started with Grandfather William who was the Lake Arrowhead Yacht Club Commodore in 1964. His grandson John Jr. is now a sailor with the “C” Scrows. The sailing club at Lake Arrowhead provides multiple fleets ensuring that there are sailing fleets for all levels of skills and also includes serious sailors such as Kiwi’s Rob Perrin. In the 1980’s there were so many children at the club that the Team Rainbow Bay was formed especially for the children. Lake Arrowhead’s sailing club is a summer club and is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Weekends at the sailing club are filled with races, swimming, bingo and sunbathing. Arrowhead sailing is an opportunity you won’t want to miss. The
Lake Arrowhead yacht club was founded in 1932 and is the longest operating
sailing club in the state. This sailing club is home to over 50 sail boats
with avid sailors in all categories, including the “C” Scrows.
