Proposals Submitted, Approvals Awaited
The project for the rebuilding of Cedar Glen is being headed up by local land surveyor and developer Dick Pretzinger who acquired his Lake Arrowhead property in Cedar Glen 43 years ago. Dick has recommended adding new features such as paving Cedar Glen routes that provide escape access for the Cedar Glen residents. The plans for the redevelopment of Cedar Glen include proposals for attracting commercial development and housing construction and are due before the County Board Supervisors for approval in November 2005. Some Lake Arrowhead real estate owners in the Cedar Glen area have already commenced rebuilding but many other residents are waiting the County Boards decision. One of the main proposals is that of the roads in Cedar Glen, where at present, unpaved roads are the only route to a home under construction in Cedar Glen. A road survey has estimated $19.5 million in improvements which include emergency evacuation and fire protection of Cedar Glen. The survey also recommends extending the Cumberland Drive to Highway 18 as an alternative evacuation route for residents in Cedar Glen. One of the main concerns for residents in the Lake Arrowhead area of Cedar Glen after the Old Fire is whether or not their rebuild will be insurable as many are unwilling to pay hundreds of thousands rebuilding if they cannot get insurance. The future of the small town of Cedar Glen has still to be decided and the rebuilding of this community in Lake Arrowhead is continuing.. Other popular Arrowhead searches... |
